I just set up my xp pro to auto login, but, (there always a but) it is now
logging in under the admin. user. then I have to change to my other user
account that I normally use.

How do I set the user that auto logs in. I would like it to be the one I use

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password
To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user
name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you
start your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Thanks for all the help guys I was able to fix my problem with the manual
method throught regedit but, (there's that but again) I first tried to
install theTweakUI from the link you gave me.

I get this error when trying to install

"The procedure entry point GetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the
dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

I'd like to be able to install the TweakUI if possible. but I will at
least try to add the UserPasswords2 to my control panel

thanks again.
