cd-rw ?

System:Windows XP on a Sony Vaio. New CD-RW, out of the
box in the F-drive and when I go to my computer & click F-
drive I get an error message "F:/is not accessible
incorrect function." Its a new disk and it looks full
when I check that too.
All I'd like to do is copy a datafile for a backup.
When I check the device manager the drive is working ok.
I've tried 2 new cd-rw's with the same results.
