CD-ROM drive isn't working

My cd-rom drive will not close.It just stays open , when
I shut it the light flashes green a couple of times then
it opens again.When I turn on my computer it closes then
opens again.If I put a cd in it it closes the light
flashes and beside my cursor a little cd shows up , but
then it pops open again.
Does it sound like my drive is broken? I hope not cause I
have no cash to buy a new one.

the same thing , it's under warranty but I can't let my
computer go for two weeks right now..
