categorization question

If I have a filtered view, for example, only active tasks, no completed ones,
and I try to group them by categories, my completed tasks pop back up. As
soon as I group them by categories, my filters don't work at all. It doesnt
matter if I group them first and then try to add the filter, or vice versa.
How do I fix this?

What method are you using to group by category? Are you using Arrange By |
Categories, or are you using the Group By box in your preferred custom view?

I am not able to reproduce this on my copy of Outlook 2003. When you go to
View | Arrange By, do you have Show in Groups checked? If so, try unchecking
it and see if that makes a difference.
