Can't access scanner via Paint

Don't know whats happened. I can no longer access my scanner via the
dropdown File menu in Paint. I see that there may be a problem when
upgrading to XP but I did that months ago and the problem has only just
happened.
Any help gratefully welcomed.

Don't know if it is the cause of your problem, but I've noticed here that if
the WIA service is not running, that option in the File menu will be
'grayed' and unavailable.

Thanks Mom....lol. I bet you bake a mean apple pie.
Thats fixed it. I remember now that I'd switched it off to speed up opening
from MyComputer. I dont think the original tip mentioned that draw back.
