I cannot seem to be able to access my hotmail account and
some other seemingly secured sites. I also cannot log on
to my MSN Explorer. I recently changed
certain things in my PC's regedit to get rid of a certain
problem. The changes were really very minor and
carefully done, so I'm not sure if that was the source of
my problem.

Your help will be appreciated!

Thanks.

I really can't tell if your regedit is to blame or it's just a coincidence that
you had this problem after you finished your regedit. If none of the below
assists, then you'll have to post back with what you did when editing the
registry and maybe someone could assist you in that area.

In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
