cannot access folders & files

Hi all,

I use w2k and add a new user who have the full control of a specify
folder (including its sub folder and files). The result is:-
1 .The original user can acces it without any problem
2. The new add user cannot access some of the folders & files (not
all) even it have the full control.
3. The folder is belong to a group which the new user also member of
that group. The folder is shared by that group with full control.

Anyone know how to solve it?

I aslo do a test as the following:-
I create one more new user to do the same thing but it has the same
result.

On the other hand, I want to know how to enforce the client to login
the specify server? And how to enforce w2k to execute the policy or
rule?

Thanks!

William,

I am not really sure how this is an Active Directory question.....

This seems more like a permissions issue. Also, it is not clear to me what
you are trying to say. That might be a language problem.

I might start with the basics. You have share permissions and you have NTFS
permissions. You generally - but not always - grant permissions to a local
group and make either domain or universal groups a member of that local
group. You then populate the domain or universal groups with the user
account objects.

Now, to your other questions:

How can you instruct a client to log on to a specific server? Or, better
said, how can you enforce a specific Domain Controller to authenticate
specific logon requests? Not sure that you really want to play around with
this! What you would need to do would be to change either the weight or the
priority of the SRV records. Really really really do not want to play with
this if you do not know what you are doing.

How can you enforce W2K to enforce this new rule? Well, to what new rule
are you referring? If you mean the authentication thing mentioned above,
then my reply tells you how. Or are you meaning the file/folder access
thing?
