Can I use colored boxes in the drop-down form field?

We want to be able to color-code the drop-down fields in a form so executives
can have the "picture" of the data entered in the form.

could you explain? I don't really understand what it is you want to
achieve ... Coloring some content based on the content of a drop-down
would usually be done with an on-exit macro.
