OK, not up on what this means anymore but just get a box appear.
Taken 10 minutes of rebooting to get to at least use the net?
HDD is only about 1yr old and no clicking which is good?

Any ideas?
Re-install Windows 7?

Did msconfig
And undeleted the AMD Catalyst Tool it is associated to and all seems OK.
Will have to monitor this over the next few start ups.
Might be fixed?

Malwarebytes-Antimalware not picked up any nasties and sincestopping the AMD Catalyst all seems ok.
I do run checks daily and do do a full AV run once a week, but this AMD box has been a problem for a while.

you are using the 'new' (hotfix) 16.1.1 ... yes?

and this is my last AMD graphics card I'm ever buying ... actually, the card is great, it's the fecking software!!!

... they haven't changed anything since 1989.

Hi Feckit, there is some info and a tutorial about this on Bleeping Computer which might be helpful: Good luck.
Nice find TC but the punctuation on that particular nastie is a little different, feckit may have got it wrong, but it's more likely another peice of crap software. :)

go run 'process explorer' and see what is really happening.

Yup, it seems its the AMD software playing games, since turning it off it's back to normal.
Seems the recent "get the latest drivers" screwed the pc up, a lot!

Been having multiple BSOD messages from software issues to motherboard & cpu.
Run a windows 7 repair & hope this will sort it out if not a bare update from the start?
Might see if pc is compatable with windows 10 and upgrade and see if that helps?

Any views???

Well still getting the dreaded BSOD and recent one was a Kaspersky conflict?
HDD might be faulty and passed the warranty period, so might try cheap and buy a new HDD?
If that does not work a new pc from novatech might be on offer!!
