Heya guys ...

I am building a pc for my friend and i have around 1,500 to spend lol so far he has given me 800 pounds to start and the rest later on, so i thought i would start buying things now for starters, the motherboard and CPU and RAM.

Is this all compatable though -

Asus A8V Rev.2 Deluxe (Socket 939) Motherboard (MB-083-AS)

AMD Athlon 64 4000 Clawhammer 130nm (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-098-AM) (CP-098-AM)

Crucial 512MB DDR PC3200 CAS3 (CT6464Z40B) (MY-024-CR) X 2

If so, would like to buy products by tonight ! Thanx :D

I dont see why it shouldent be compatable. others wise looking impressive already, are you getting 1GB or 512mb of RAM? what else do you plan on getting? I like AMD, easier to understand than Intels gibberish..:D

Looks good to me :)

Have you considered the DFI Socket 939 board?

If he has that budget, don't skimp, get the best.

They cost £153.00 or £132.00, the cheaper version comes without UV Reactive rounded floppy and IDE cables, that's the only difference.

A bit pricey, but look at all the features and read some reviews, tis a good board.

I think he would rather just get that motherboard lol i was just on the phone to him ... he said everything sounds cool :) He might be getting more money aswell lucky init !!!

Also i am using his case from before, but that comes with a LAME 200W PSU ... so what about this one -

Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU (CA-003-AN)

I am now going to purchse those 3 things ... after someone has said about that PSU ... if it is bad ... can you recommend another one please ?!

Thank you

I have a Maximum PC magazine here and it rated that one of the best PSU's you can get. So i think that should do

Haha So picked a good PSU then !!! ;)

All 4 items are on my checklist now ... :)

May aswell purchase the hardrive, since i can afford it easily atm lol What about this one -

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 300GB 6B300SO SATA 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-040-MD)

Also going to purchase 2 fans ... Will the motherboard take 2 fans at the back of the case ?!?!

Coolermaster Neon LED 80mm Fan - Blue (FG-000-CM)

Can't wait !!! :p

Why not go with water cooling?
... Shouldent that depend on how many power leads from the PSU? and the case itself?

Normally the fans are power by the power supply directly.

Get a couple of smaller drives and RAID 0 them - mucho bettero :)

Even a couple of Raptors if he can afford - and then one slave drive, or a couple of 74Gb raptors... LIGHTNING quick!
