I've been having trouble with my computer the last few days. If I open more
than one or two programs, it will slow down or stall. I will open Task
Manager and it will show my CPU usage at 100% for a minute or so, then it
will jump down to 5-15%.
Today, I was on a trustworthy website that used an activex control which I
already had installed and I got the following message:
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer uverrun dectected.
Program: C:/program files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
termindated.
I click okay and IE closes and the "send the error report" box opens.
Could these two things be related? If so, what do I need to do to fix it?
I'm on Windows XP SP2, 1.8GHz and 512 MB RAM.
