My IE 6.0 is not accessing any webpages. I'm using Win
2000 pro. I do have an internet connection, I've had my
cable provider check it out. I can ping different
websites. When I open IE, type an address in the address
bar (like www.yahoo.com), it "searches" for it. It tries
to open it, then it tries to open www.www.yahoo.com.com
etc. I'm connected to the internet, my isp is not the
problem, IE just won't connect to any sites. Any help
would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Christen

First, make sure you are not afflicted by malware.

My XP Home machine does same thing. All patches and SP's
are installed. Home page is set to MSN.com and it comes
up every time, no problem. If I try to access Yahoo.com
or Earthlink.net, it hangs and terminates.

However, if I have time to kill, I open explorer, let
MSN.com come up, minimize and ignore for 5 minutes
minimum, it will usually go to Yahoo.com or Earthlink.net
thereafter.

It is not my machine as it is plenty healthy. It started
doing it after the MSBlast patching.
