boot problem

I've just installed my Sony SRU 520A dvd writer. No problems - everything
working as it should. Then I went to install updated firmware for it and it
require the machine to reboot. Before it got to the windows screen I got the
message CMOS setting wrong

CMOS memory size wrong

PressF1 to enter set-up, F2 to load fdefault values

I pressed F2 an then got the blue screen saying

" STOP 000415 Unknown Hard Error .

Beginning dump of physical memory to disk"

then it counted up to 100 and rebooted. Same thing n reboot but this time
I went into set-up and CMOS and the date was set to aug 2002 time 00.05. I
rebooted again and it seemed ok but what's going on?

Have AMD Ath 2200 processor, 512 RAM, 160 G HDD and OS is XP

Hav the same problem. Happened after I got my asas motherboard though. I've
read that it can be caused by Norton Antivirus 2003 or something. I disabled
mine, and things got better, but started again recently. Have had my A06 for
a week now, and have the PC reset one me once, but it happened while
ripping...
