Boot.ini file missing

This happens quite frequently to my Pc. When I start my
PC it tells me that the above file is missing. I have
tried to reinstall Windows XP and it tells me that the
above file is missing so therefore I cannot reinstall xp.

Can someone please let me know what I should do to
prevent this from happening. I have appropriate security
on my PC to prevent any hackers getting it.

Please help me ASAP
