Periodically I get an error alert to say that boost xp needs to close down -
I wish it would permenantly but can't find a way of doing so.
The error message reads

C:\DOCUME~1\KENNET~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER63.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

Any Ideas ??

What is boost xp? It may be spyware if it cannot be found in add/remove
programs. Conduct a search for files containing the name(s) from the start
menu and delete suspect files.

Sounds like something got installed that you didn't really
want. Do a search for boostxp and find out where it is.
Next go to add-remove programs and if it's there, remove
it. If that doesn't work and you know what you're doing,
do a registry search and remove it manually. Remove the
directory you found earlier, reboot and if it isn't a
virus it should be gone.
