bizarre file selection behavior

Today my DEll laptop with WinXP Pro began behaving strangely. At first
right mouse clicks stopped working - particularly for dragging and
cut/paste in WORD, then in all programs and desktop. Now windows will
not stay on top. If I have several windows open I can't select one to
enter data in. It will only stay open till I move the cursor - I have to
minimize the rest. No viruses found, no spyware. I usually practice
safehex. All I recall doing recently was to download the latest Getright...
Ideas?

don't know if get right has spyware in it, but it likes
to call home. check for malware/adware. yer ram can't

I removed getright.
Next day: It seems to have been a bad Photoshop uninstall. Still can't
drag or figure why the dialer icon has disappeared... No known virus or
spyware found yet.
