G'day

My other computer will not start. I had a power failure today and my computer was on. Now, when turned on, my computer annonces that it is closing for the protection of the computer and the cause in an " UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"

It tells me to press f8 and start it in safe mode.... But this fails and takes me back to the same page.... i have attempeted to start it in all configs ( ie. safe, safe with netwk, normal, last normal...etc

please some help......

I had this too.

Is when the computer was writing data to the disk the power cut caused it to right the data to a wrong part of the disk. Put in your windows xp disk and use the recovery console. It sorts out your file system for you.

i think the line is

chkdisk /r

yeah it is. this then recovers and fixes the directorys
