Best File Recovery program

I am trying to recover jpeg's that were lost on my
Windows XP machine when my user logon was deleted. I
tried software shelf Rescue Plus...but it doesn't let me
narrow my search. I have not tried to recover a file
yet...as I try to leave the disk unwritten on. What is
the best utility around to isolate and recover deleted
photos? Thanks!

I use File Saver. But like the one you mention, it doesn't allow you to
specify the file type. But once the scan is done, you can sort by type.

Ron,

I use Restoration which is freeware. You can find it under File &
Data Recovery at

http://lists.gpick.com/

It allows you to recover by file type (which you must spectify as
".doc", NOT as "*.doc").

Hope that's of some use.
