I have disabled several "services" to speed up booting and performance. I note that now I cannot complete a backup using the WinXP backup utility

Anyone know upon which services the backup utility is dependent (so I can re-activate these services)

Please reply directly to my email address (e-mail address removed)

Thanks.

Hi,

You can start the backup utility in Windows XP by running the services,
"ntbackup".

This you can do by following the steps given below:

1.Click Start and click run.
2.Type "ntbackup" to install the backup utility

I hope the above information helps you.

Go to where you disabled those services.Right click on
each entry to display the properties, click on the
dependency tab...and read ALL for future reference.
From memory, volume shadow copy service should be
enabled.Can't recall any others-an XP 1a user'll be along
in a mo.
