Backup Utility Won't Run Scheduled Backup

Ed

I have a daily backup scheduled that never runs. It used to. When I
go to Scheduled Job Options, and select Properties I have this under
run:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup "@C:\Documents and Settings\Ed
Fasula\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\NTBackup\data\Backup Ed PST.bks" /n "BKUP_ED.bkf created 11/29/2002
at 7:58 AM" /d "Set created 11/29/2002 at 7:58 AM" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no
/hc:blush:ff /m daily /j "Backup Ed PST" /l:s /f "D:\Backup\BKUP_ED.bkf"

The Enabled box is checked. Schedule tab is daily and Settings tab is
clear.

I tried leaving the Backup Utility program open through the scheduled
time and it still fails to run.

Thanks for any help…

Ed,

Are you trying to backup PST files. Sounds like backup is failing on the
PST file. Remove that file from being backed up and try again. I know that
PST files are problems for XP synchronization. I think that are a problem
for the backup utility also.

I don't have any problem backing up .pst files at all. It's just the
schudled start that does not work.

Does it not run at all or does it give to you some kind of error message?

You might try to schedule a backup.......like.......5 minutes into the
future. Watch your screen. See what happens.

Doesn't work for me either. I set up a schedule to backup my
documents every day. The program did the initial backup just fine,
but it ignores the schedule. I have set it for five minutes ahead to
see what happens and it does nothing. Odd, since I use the scheduler
to do complete antivirus scans and that works fine.

The password was the issue, but not the XP logon. I went to control
panel/scheduled tasks, right click the backup task properties, then
hit "set Password". I set it to match the XP logon password and it
actually worked!

Thanks!

I have this same problem....the scheduled backups have been running just fine for the last 2 months. Then all of a sudden they will not run. I have done everything except the password check. I'll do that next and I'll let you know how it turns out.
