Hello group,

My friend gave his computer to see if I could clean the
adware threats from it, because one of them had taken
over his background picture and turned it into a website
link. I found the file of the link that it put up there
and I deleted it. Now there is a blank white screen. I
can't get a picture to appear. I was wondering if the
adware program changed some file that tells what picture
the background is. I know in windows 98 the win.ini file
had a line "background=(none)", but the win.ini file in
xp doesn't, I was wondering if there was another file
other then win.ini that xp uses. I know this post is a
little confusing, so if you like you can email me at cuda-
426(removethis)@att.net.

Thanks,

John
