Select the Drawing toolbar, and choose your Autoshape.

Use the mouse to draw and size it.

Right click on the Autoshape, and select "Format
Autoshape".

Select the "Layout" tab.

Set "Wrapping" to "In front of Text", and click "OK".

Drag the Autoshape to its desired location.

I'm using autoshapes, and I'm trying to make them sit
along with the text - just like a picture (with those
little blacks squares that show when you select it) does
when place it amongst text. But I don't know how to do
that. Can anyone help me??

Actually, it would have to be formatted "In Line With Text," and this is
possible only in the most recent versions of Word.
