On certain applications I receive the following message.
ATL.DLL. was not found re installing the application may
fix the problem, can any body help me

This might have been caused by some spyware on your system, or you might
have downloaded some codecs that overwrote the file. To replace damaged
system files, put your XP cd in the drive and go to Start>Run and type
"sfc /scannow" without the quotes. After your atl.dll is replaced, do
some maintenance on your computer. Remove any spyware with Spybot
Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs before running
them. These programs are free, so run them both since they complement
each other. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal tools in
Safe Mode. Make sure the antivirus you have installed is a version not
later than 2002 and you are keeping the definitions updated.
