I'm looking into buying one of the ATI 9700 pro based graphics cards...

These are:

Gigabyte MAYA II
Sapphire 9700pro Atlantis
Hercules 9700pro 3dProhet

I doubt i'll go for the ATI's own board.... lack of outputs.

But the GPU is the same... so does anyone have one of the above cards? (or based GPU) What's it like? Would you recommend it?

Don't say wait for the NV30 it's gonna be ages...

What outputs do you need that ATi's doesn't have? Oh, and I don't think anyone should waste their time and breath to wait for NV30. It's only going to be here in 2003, trust me.

There's a review of the Sapphire one over at HardOCP. Kyle reccomends it. I've also seen good things about the Hercules one. Are there any differences in the features, or are they all the same?

Oh it doesn't matter actually! none of them have dual DVi output.

Shame

and now the ATI all-in-wonder 9700 pro has caught my little eye :D
I bet they're really expensive!

Have you heard anything about the NV30? how is it to fair against the R300?

New ATI 9700 pro

Hey guys, the lastest offering from ATI:

Check out this monster of a card, Nvidia has nothing compared to this:

The ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 pro

features:
Mulitmedia software; DVD software, video capture, tv capture, tivo compatible, connect to HDTV
Radio Frequency Remote control

Read Revies at:
AnandTech.com

a1 electronics

The card will not hit the shelves for a few weeks, and it's gonna be pricey.

The AIW 9700 Pro is an amazing video card, the best out there right now.

As for NV30, there's not much info available for it. I think it'll probably give a little, take a little from R300, and probably overall perform a tad better. But ATi is supposed to have a 0.13 micron revision R300 out at the same time, so......
