Assign multiple people to task - Monitor individual people's progr

I know how to assign a task to multiple people, but when I do, I have no way
to monitor if each of them has completed the task or not.

I have about 100 people to assign the same task, and need a means to be able
to check and see who is finished. I want the auto updates that I get when I
assign a task to just one person.

I would be happy, even, if I could populate a distribution list to which to
send a task, that would split the task into individual tasks for me.

Can this be done within Outloo and/or Project 2003?

That is exactly true. I'm not aware of any suitable workaround other than
just having them e-mail you manually when the task is completed.
