Get rid of one of the anti-virus programs.

You do not need two antivirus applications.
Other than that, you need them if you want to keep your computer safe and
secure.

I don't know if you need two anti-virus apps or not, but I'd sure keep
the rest of them. And use them.
I tried Grisoft once. Something didn't suit me about it. Updates maybe?
Can't remember now. Haven't ever had Avast so I really don't know much
about that one.
I have Norton antivirus, Spybot S & D, AdAware, and SpywareBlaster. And
I use Sygate Personal Firewall instead of Zone Alarm. But Zone Alarm is
just fine.
Firefox is my default browser. That certainly counts towards keeping
junk out.

Only one of the Two AV programs in use as a real time check; have the
other around for a second opinion in suspicious circumstances. Equally
AdAware and Spybot are a usefully complementary pair, which I would
regard as enough. And have ZA as a more comprehensive, and more easily
configured firewall then the Windows one

Just one more thing - Yesterday, I worked at a home with 3 PC's.
All had AVG 7.0 installed and updated. As a sanity check I ran
Panda's Active Scan and all 3 had viruses on them. So don't trust
a single Anti-Virus product. Be sure to occasionally run an alternate
vendor's on-line scan, just to double-check your system.

Keep both anti-virus applications. But only run one 24/7 if you are into
that. Keep the second updated to double check now your pc and then.
Spybot Search and Destroy
Ad-Aware

Nice to keep both installed and updated. No need to keep them in the
background tho.

Agreed. This is common knowledge. Same theory goes for anti-spyware
apps. It doesn't have to be an "online" scanner tho.
