Advice on firewall?

Zone alarm pro keeps asking me if I'll allow "generic host process for
windows 32 to act as a server" should I?...is this harmless?

I have always allowed that. If I don't, quite a few other services will not
work.

Greetings --

I would -- and always have, to no discernable detriment -- deny
that particular permission. I can think, off hand, of no valid reason
to automatically allow inbound connections to Svchost.exe.
