activated windows xp maximum amount of times.

I do alot of "toying" in windows, installing alpha and beta drivers and software and such. ive used the same copy of windows xp since the day windows xp was released. The last time i tried too activate windows I get an error saying that my it has been activated the maximum amount of times. It sends me too a phone number and i have been trying too get through for 3 days now but have yet too have any luck. it is the toll-free number too talk too a customer service rep. 888-571-2048. Whenever i call though i just get a busy signal. do they only have one phone line or soemthing? I need help. If you have any tips please email me.

Well, I just call the number and immediately got through.
Try calling again since there is no other way to activate.

which one does everyone use? the toll-free number or the toll number? Whenever i try the toll-free number it is busy for some odd reason.

This might be a silly question, but you are dialing a "1" before that "888"
aren't you?

The 888 number you listed just worked for me, first try.
Do you have any type of calls blocked?
Toll calls blocked?
Something on your end is most likely wrong if you have been unable to
get through for three days.
Contact your telephone company to seek a solution.
