acgshl32.exe Error

I get the following message upon system startup and login:
acgshl32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close
etc...

The result is that my desktop, task bar, clock, etc...
don't load. I can get into IE through a link in the
error message (and hence to all my programs and files),
but it is pretty annoying to be without a desktop. Any
ideas how to fix this? Thanks.
