Access violation at address

One of the applications that I run keeps giving me an
error message "Access violation at address xxx". Does
anyone know what causes this ?

You could reinstall the program to make sure that all related files
are in order. If this does not help, try the Program Compatibility
features in Windows XP. As a last resort, contact the author of the
software for help.
