Thanks, Brian. I can send e-mail to this addressee but my wife's computer
cannot. We both use the same server (WI-FI through a router to COMCAST).
Addressee says she does not have anyone blocked. Puzzling.

Puzzling.
I get the same error message trying to send to msn.com and hotmail.com using
Office 2003 via a Comast server. Comcast will not provide support for this
problem. As you said, "puzzling." I checked the authenticating, as Brian
suggested, and it is OK. Bob W

I recently encounted this same problem and here is the solution that worked
for me: In Outlook go to Tools>E-Mail Account>View or change exisiting
account>Change>More settings>Outgoing server..Make sure the box is checked
by "My outgoing server (SMPT) require authenication" Hope this works for
you.
I'm having same problem with this 550 error...started suddently and now will
not permit any email to go out. I followed your advice and checked the
box...but still did not take. Have read all the MS hierglypics in help...but
it doesn't help either fix or explain why the sucker is doing
it...suggestions?
