404 error with google

when I hit search on IE6, I get the 404 screen in the search
pannel. If I type google in the address bar I get the cPanel
screen. I get the 404 screen for ask.com. This is a new and
revolting development that started today. There have been no
software changes in the past few days.

Major nuisance. Any ideas?

(Claen according to AVguard, run Zone Alarm.)

Search for malware.
Try downloading, installing and updating the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Thanks. I should have mentioned that I've done both. Somebody
recommended them a bit before I posted. They found some stuff,
but not the crucial one this time.
