Greetings fellow users,
1. My 1st hard drive shows my internet connection firewalled.
2. My 2nd hard drive shows my internet connection firewalled, sharing(?) &
networked.
3. Should my 2nd hard drive be showing sharing? I thought networking
implied 2 computers.
4. In the last week my Norton Internet Security has shown 411 attempts
of an intrusion, which I have traced to!! My computer !! running on the 2nd
hard drive.
5. Are these events related? can anyone help me please.
Thanks to anyone who can.

Hi,

Networking implies any connected computers, be it a local lan or via the
'net. My question would be what folders are designated as shares? Start/run
cmd, type "net view \\<computername>" to see what is listed.

Are they related? Could be, Does nOrton indicate what file is trying to get
out?

By "two hard drives" do you mean two different disk drives installed
into the same computer box, one as drive C: and the other as drive D:?

Or are you using the term "hard drive" to refer to the entire computer
case, meaning that you have two separate physical computers, each with
their own monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.?

Thanks for replying; I have two hard drives in the tower labelled "C" which is the 1st hard drive of 30g/b. I also have a 2nd hard drive of 120g/b, which is partitioned labelled "F" & "G". When I use the first hard drive "C" (master) I dont get Norton Internet telling me it has blocked an attack on my computer. When I use "F" (slave) and I am using a file sharing programme, I do. This is the problem, as Norton locks out the offending computer, i.e. mine from accessing the file sharing programme. This is the problem, hope you can help. I would also like to know why when I am using, sorry, accessing "F" it states that I am firewalled, networked and sharing, I don't really understand this statement. Thanks again for your help.
