Running Windows XP and on the Welcome Screen by one of
the users it is saying:-
1 unread mail message...........
BUT there are NO unread messages !

I went as far as deleting all mail both received and sent
and all mail in all folders... BUT the message on the
Welcome Screen still persists.

Any Help ???

Please email me (e-mail address removed)

Thanks

John

John,

I think XP is referring to a Hotmail account that that
users would have and that would have been setup up to
report on new messages in Messenger

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its Repair, select 'repair unread Mail count' will reset the count:
Logon, Unread Mail allows you to turn the matter off altogether
