I've never done that, thanks. I'll take a look.

    Well that backfired! :-)

Ok troops! so, after my last backfired upgrade im about to embark on another :) my 500gb Samsung 970 evo is getting pretty full. I’ve must bought a 970 plus 1tb which I’ll install this week. Now, so I have the 500 as my boot drive and the 1tb for games etc or the other way around? also, do I...

    Wifi Antenna

Just to close this out, I ended up getting a cable fitted through the walls in the house and I’m now cables rather than wifi. Definitely the way to go. I don’t really notice any speed difference but stability wise it’s great.

Which 2 in 1 or laptop for 6 year old ?

Now that they are learning from home for the foreseeable future I’m going to buy my nearly 9 year old (where did the time go... NINE!!) a laptop. I’m thinking of a chrome book as they seem to have a lot of Google stuff at school. The new Pixelbook Go is getting good reviews. Anyone got...

    Well that backfired! :-)

yeah, having done it I tend to agree. I’ve got a bit of a desire to built a tiny itx pc so I might just NAB the 16gb out of that for the new build :-)

    Wifi Antenna

Just stability. Getting some disconnections. Seems fast enough. I might get a cable put in if it keeps up like this.

    Wifi Antenna

My other thread ended up being more memory / bios focussed so thought I would start a separate one. I bought the screw in wifi antenna and it's working, but doesn't seem quite as resilient as the previous one. The previous one had 2 wires which screwed into the 2 parts on the motherboard via...

    Well that backfired! :-)

Thanks Ian. I have been into the bios and checked the memory setting etc. (they are 4 identical sticks - corsair vengeance 3200). I've had a really good look through the BIOS and can't see any other settings and I've closed and saved. I guess the next thing might be to reset the bios?

    Well that backfired! :-)

Maybe. I did think that. It would be a bit of a coincidence that the first time I open it in 18 months the battery also dies. Unless I've dislodged it... :-)

    Well that backfired! :-)

I'm thinking I'll do a bit of research and see if there's 'better' wifi antenna's I can buy. The one I got was just from the local electronics shop and they only had 1 in stock. I wonder if I buy an Asus one (it's an Asus motherboard) whether that might fix the problem. Also, anyone got any...

    Well that backfired! :-)

Hi All, This is more of a moan than anything! :-) I have a pretty powerful gaming machine that I built a while ago, you probably remember the thread! The one thing I regretted was putting 16gb RAM in instead of 32gb. So... I bought an extra 16 and got my son to install it with me - what a...

    Coronavirus Preparation

People in Australia have gone mental. There's literally no food in the shops at the moment. And forget about toilet roll. Honestly, the human race is ridiculous some times. Hope everyone is feeling ok and no issues so far.

    Wyze Cam and Sensors

The image quality is ok. The cloud storage is free but you can pay for more. The free version stores 12 seconds of video after detecting motion. The motion and door sensors are cool though. To be honest, it’s just a fun gadget to play around with and they are so cheap!
