XP Pro Installation problems/ how to stop installation process?

M

Mark

I tried to reinstall my windows xp pro. A fatal error
occurs, mentioning that it can not find the product
catalogs. As far as I understand I should contact MS for a
replacement CD.
However, now I need to get to an email from outlook, which
I did not consider important before (unfortunatly now it
is). Is there anyway to stop the installation process
(which keeps crashing) ?
I appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

You'll have to perform a "Repair Install" in order to gain access to your email messages.
There is no way to back out at this point.

Examine the Windows XP CD and make sure it is absolutely "pristine clean"
with no scratches, fingerprints or smudges. Use a mild non-ammonia based
household cleaning solution and a soft cloth to clean it.
