XP not saving current windows configuration when logging off

It sounds like it's a program on your startup. Hit yout
start button, then click run and type in msconfig

Once you've done that, under the general tab
select "selective startup," then click the startup tab and
disable whatever programs you don't want on your startup,
just remember, if you don't know what it does, either A)
find out, or B) leave it there! Just look for the one
program that keeps coming up on your startup..

Thank for your reply. I should have included more info... The window that
keeps opening when I log in is Windows Explorer. The same folder keeps
popping up everytime I log in. Do you know of a way to save my windows
desktop settings so the folder doesn't keep opening when I log in?
