XP Home remote desktop sharing

XP Pro and other XP Home computers. It keeps telling me that either the
system is busy or the I don't have the correct computer. Will somebody type
up a step-by-step instructions on what I need to do to get them to talk to
each other so I don't have to run all over the house to work on another of
our 4 computers. I would like to be able to work on another computer from my
one computer alone. We are running a Linksys switch and only one of the 4
computers is running XP Pro now. The others are running Home addition. The
one that I would like to edit the others on is a Home Edition. And We have
DSL.
Please help. I am almost bald from pulling my hair out.

You can only access/control the XP Pro box using Remote Desktop. XP Home does *NOT* support Remote
Desktop as a host. Alternatives to Remote Desktop on the XP Home boxes include NetMeeting Remote
Desktop Sharing (RDS) and VNC. Get the VNC server and client from...

http://www.realvnc.com or
http://www.tightvnc.com

NetMeeting is built-in to XP and 2000 and can *NOT* be upgraded. Look at this KB article for help
with RDS...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;233175

Also, note that its best to be using static IP addressing on your LAN in order to call the correct
IP address.

Make sure that all 4 computers are connected on same network or LAN. If on same network, you can use Microsoft default RDP tool in Win XP in order to establish remote connection between computers. If your computers are on different network, you can establish remote connection between them using remote support services such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. over internet.
