XP box can not surf the web through networking

HELP!!!

I have finally gotten the XP and the 98SE to network
together....

the 98SE is the computer that connects to the internet.
but the XP Pro can not surf the web...nothing works when
dealing with online ...but it still reads the 98 computer

can you ping the public ip? if not, check the default gateway. if yes, can
you ping web site? if not, check the dns.
