Xp and Modems

Can I use either a U.S. Robotics Sportster Model #
005686B0 or a Hayes Accura 56K + Fax Model #5674US with
WIN Xp Home?
Plan to connect to computer via serial port.

You can try setting up the serial port before trying to install the modem.
You may have to settle for generic modem if no XP compatible drivers for
your modem choices are available.

Just a word of encouragement.
I have a Serial port connected US Robitics 56K Sportster modem setup and
running on my XP system at home. XP picked it up and installed it's own
version drivers for it and has been working for over 6 months. No problems
with it at all. Like you were advised, make sure your serial ports are
turned on in your BIOS before plugging in the modem.
