Wrong Wireless Network Card Identified

I have a D-Link wireless network adapter card. Windows is
identifying it as something totally different. I can
configure the card and it will join the wireless network
but I seem to have random problems with it maintaining its
connectivity to the router. How can I get XP to ask me
for the "correct" driver instead of it automatically
choosing and installing for me. Thanks for any help.

As far as I remember you install the driver at first and then insert
the card. Did you try this?
