Worksheet data reverting to previously saved data at opening

When I open a monthly report in excel 2000, make changes
to various cells in various worksheets, then save the file
to the same name.....then open the same file a few days
later, the "old data" shows up in the cells. If I start
opening each worksheet from the begining toolbar at the
bottom of the page, the "new data" then appears; but I
have to open each & every worksheet for all the "new data"
to show up in the cells......drives me crazy. Thought I
lost all new input data.
Any ideas???

Thanks

it sounds as though you open the files from a given location but when you
save them they're defaulting to a different location. When you open from
the "used list" you open the file from where it was saved ... hence the up
to date data.

Is a guess ...

When you open the file, click on File | Properties and look at the General
tab to see where the file is. If I'm right, it'll be different to the
folder you originally opened.

Trevor:
It seems that when others open and edit cells in this file
(it's shared)is when the problem arises.
They resave the file from where the opened it.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks,
JC
