Working with Wireless and Lan connections

I would like an option to prevent from Windows to enable both Wifi and Lan
connection at the same time. Is there a way to configure the Lan in such a
way that only one connection is operative with the other disabled ?

Wi-Fi is the 802.11b wireless networking standard.

I take it that you don't want to uninstall the wireless
networking software on the computers that use it.

You can only connect Windows XP to one network. You don't
have two networks running. You have one network with one
part wired and another part wireless.

If you have a wired network that has a wireless addition,
you can only disconnect or turn off the wireless Access
Point connected to the LAN, or remove the wireless adapter
cards from the workstations to prevent the LAN network
from logging on to it.
