words in an oval

Hello,

I have a paragraph of 55 - 60 words that I want to display in an oval shape,
(as they might look if printed onto an oval piece of wood). Can I do this in
Word 2007, and if so can someone please point me in the right direction ?

Although you can create two halves of an oval concave curve and place them
on either side of the text (with Tight text wrapping), I suspect you'll find
it simpler in the long run just to draw an oval of the desired size in front
of the (justified) text and then insert line breaks as needed to match the
shape. When you're done, delete the drawing object.

What Suzanne said, you could also draw the oval shape in PowerPoint, type in
the text which will automatically be put in the centre of the oval. You can
format using shift+enter to follow the shape as closely as possible. Then
copy - paste to Word. It's worth a try.

Thanks, this has worked nicely, tho it takes a bit of experimentation with
font & shape sizes etc.

By 'justified' I assume you mean centre justified (it seems to work best)

I also tried creating the shape then using the 'add text' option, but I
couldn't get it to work (the text seems to choose its own layout within the
shape)

No, I meant Justified, so that the lines will stretch as close as possible
to the edges, but I wasn't thinking straight because of course you have to
have the paragraph centered to get the left side in the right position. I
did start to say centered and then evidently had a brainstorm that clouded
my judgment. <g>
