WordPad Line Spacing Problem?

HI-Liter

I'm trying to use WordPad and am having trouble with the height of each line. instead of each sucessive line of text being spaced
just below the next, as in this text, there is a space between lines, as in the text below.

It won't go away?

Hi HI-Liter,

Press Ctrl+1 after opening Wordpad, and this should set it back to single
spacing between lines of text.

Thanks. I see how that works but it doesn't solve my problem.
Let me explain agaion, with and examples. I took two screen shots and posted them.

The first one shows threee lines of text that were copied and pasted from a web site to word pad. If you look, you can see the lines
are single spaced.

I then placed the cursor in the middle of the first line of text and pressed 'enter' to move the text after the cursor to the next
line. Here is where I have a problem Every time I press 'enter' it moves the text two lines down instead of one.

No amount of Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, or Ctrl+5 seems to have any effect on this behavior.

Try Shift+Enter.

Also, in Wordpad open 'Paste Special' and make sure that 'Paste' is checked
with 'Unformatted text'.
