word wont save my document HELP!HELP! important assignments need saved

every time i try to save the an error message saying word
cannot save because either i have too many windows open or
there is not enough space on my disc. I have 58GB of free
space on my disc and word is the only window open!!!what
is wrong? how do i fix it?

I'd start by trying Save-as in a different file first.

Ifthat don't work, and if you have a relatively short doc with minor formatting, you might try select entire doc, copy and paste into a new doc in Notepad. Save it. Then reboot and copy it back into word.
