Word should add definition of suggested words to spellchecker

I work in Denmark, but am English - I often see documents from colleagues who
have used and accepted a spellchecker version of a word, but it is not the
right word. eg SERVER instead of SEVERE. It should be possible to hold the
mouse over a suggested word and get a dictionary definition of that word.
This is not only of use internationally, but to those who are not confident
of their language skills, and also to dyslexics. What do you think?

I think you're wanting to add too much complexity to a product that is
already overly functional. As it is, Word has something over 1000 commands.
Most users are familiar with less than 5 percent of these (not the same 5
percent in each case). Do you also want Word to offer Danish definitions of
Spanish words? Where do you stop?

In fact, Office 2003 does let you look up meanings by using a link in the
Reference pane to send a request to a web service. This isn't integrated
with the spellchecker, and I doubt that Mike's colleagues would bother with
it. Possibly the grammar checker should catch some mistakes like this --
'server' and 'severe' are different parts of speech and shouldn't be usable
in the same location -- but English grammar is such a mess that automated
grammar checking is practically useless.
