Word always wants to start in Safe Mode

I have reinstall Office 2003 and tried several self testing and Repair
options, but I cannot seem to find out what is wrong or recover the documnent
that seems tom be causing this phenomenon. Word will not open unless it
opens in "Safe Mode". I have checked the " disabled items" list under
HELP/about Microsoft Office Word and the list is always empty. Can anyone
explain this to me?

If the problem is associated with a specific document then that document is
probably corrupt. You may be able to recover some of it with the recover any
text from file open option.
