A friend sends me word documents via email that contain
paragraphs shaded at 20%. When the documents are opened,
the paragraphs appear shaded, but do not print shaded.
The "Shading Color" icon in "Tables and Borders" also
shows that the paragraphs are not shaded. This absence of
shading in an email document apparently started when I
purchased a new computer. Does anyone know how I can
assure that the document I receive via email will contain
the shading with which it was sent?

I would suspect your "printer" is what is causing the problem. Did you
install the proper printer driver and is it set as the default instead
of generic text printer?
