won't send message from out box - but account test worked

I have recently transferred my info and data from one computer to another.

I set up my outlook account exactly the same as in old machine - both using
Outlook 2007. When I test the account both send and receive work and I
receive the test mail. (Using Gmail account)

However when I use outlook I can not send a message. I receive messages OK.
The outgoing messages remain in the outbox. Send/receive report shows all
actions completed successfully.

Help!!! I am bald already cant loose any more hair!!
